Scam alert over fake texts from Clifton Suspension Bridge

Drivers in the West Country are being warned of a scam claiming to come from the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
The text, that says money is owed for unpaid charges, uses a web address with gov.uk in it.
You're urged to forward any texts you receive to 7726 and then block the number.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the team behind the suspension bridge said: "SCAM ALERT! We have been made aware of a scam text message claiming to come from Clifton Suspension Bridge that says money is owed for unpaid charges.
"The message asks for £41 and uses a web address with http://gov.uk in it.
"1. CSBT never sends text messages.
"2. CSBT is not associated with any government bodies. Our web address is http://cliftonbridge.org.uk
"Please DO NOT follow the link or enter your bank details. If you receive this message please email bridgemaster@cliftonbridge.org.uk to report it."
You're urged to forward any texts you receive to 7726 and then block the number.
