'Moona Lisa' bronze statue on display in Bristol
Art enthusiasts can catch the mooning Mona Lisa at the M Shed
Nick Walker's painting 'Moona Lisa' has been reimagined as a life-size bronze figure and is now on display in Bristol.
He created the original painting in response to a challenge from fellow artist Banksy, who said nothing more could be done with the Mona Lisa.
The 260kg sculpture has been installed at the M Shed for its Vanguard: Bristol Street Art exhibition until 31st October 2021.
Walker created the 3D piece by building a rig of 160 DSLR cameras to capture a 360-degree image of a live model dressed as the 'Moona Lisa'.
From this image, a digital model was created which was then used as the mould for the final bronze sculpture.
Walker has become one of the biggest names in street art, first emerging from the infamous early 1980s Bristol scene.
His story is also captured in Vanguard's extensive exhibition which explores Bristol's pioneering underground scene.
