Man suffers fractured skull after assault in Whapping Wharf area

Avon and Somerset Police have launched an appeal for information following the incident last month

A man has been assaulted in the Wapping Warf area of Bristol - suffering a fractured skull.

Police say the man in his 30s was walking with a woman when he was punched in the back of the head after being shouted at by a group of men.

The incident happened at about 11.40pm on Friday 19 May.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: "We’re appealing for information after a man was assaulted in the Wapping Road area of Bristol.

"The victim, a man in his thirties, was walking with a woman when they were shouted at by a group of five or six young men. He was then punched in the back of the head, causing him to fall over.

"He suffered a fractured skill for which he’s still undergoing treatment at hospital.

"The offenders were white, in their mid-twenties, and wearing black tracksuits."
