Man in serious condition after being punched to the floor in Hanham

A man in his 30s remains in a critical condition in hospital after he was punched to the floor in Hanham on Friday night (July 7).

He was punched to the floor on High Street at approximately 8.30pm.

Another man, who’s 33 years old, was arrested and has since been released on police bail after being interviewed by Avon and Somerset Police detectives on Saturday evening.

The arrested man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent following the incident.

The victim was taken to Southmead Hospital with a serious head injury, where he remains in a critical condition.

The force say enquiries into what happened continue - including a review of CCTV footage.
