Love Saves the Day will not happen on The Downs again
This year's venue was temporary because of the impact of the pandemic
Bristol music festival Loves Saves the Day (LSTD) will not happen on The Downs again.
The two day dance music event went ahead over the weekend (September 4-5) with 25-thousand people expected each day.
Usually it happens at Eastville Park in May but Covid-19 meant that wasn't possible this year.
We have spoken to festival director Tom Paine:
"What we'd like to do in 2022 is return with the Downs concerts, which is obviously the annual September concerts we do on the Downs with a more live emphasis, whereas Love Saves the Day is more kind of young music and dance music " he said.
"So very much it's a one year only (having LSTD on The Downs)
"Our plan is to bring The Downs concerts back to The Downs in September 2022.
This year's Downs concert was headlined by Bristol band IDLES last Friday (September 3), but also featured around a dozen support acts who performed across three stages for around six hours.
In previous years bands that have performed include Massive Attack in 2016 who are also from Bristol, Elbow in 2017 and Noel Gallagher's high Flying Birds in 2019.
This year's LSTD was headlined by Little Simz and Mahalia on Saturday and then Slowthai, Ghetts and Pa Salieu on Sunday.
Everyone who went had provide proof of a negative lateral flow test, but once inside there were no social distancing restrictions.
