One of the most popular musicals of the last decade is coming to the West Country!

Hamilton will visit the Bristol Hippodrome for eight weeks next year, between 30 April and 22 June, 2024.

The show premiered in New York in 2015 and has since won Olivier Awards, Tony's, Grammy's and a Pulitzer Prize, having come across the pond to the Victoria Palace Theatre in London in December 2017.

For the first time it will now go on tour across the UK with a brand new cast to be announced in the near uture.

Tickets will go on sale on 15 May this year.

"Hamilton is the story of America then, told by America now," a press release about the show reads.

"Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, Hamilton has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre—a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.

"With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, Hamilton is based on Ron Chernow’s acclaimed biography.

"The Hamilton creative team previously collaborated on the Tony Award®-Winning Best Musical In the Heights."
