A popular venue in Frome say they were 'delighted' to be able to welcome Coldplay last week.

It's as they confirmed on Thursday they wouldn't be holding any Glastonbury festival events this year, after receiving a "large number" of enquiries.

The Cheese and Grain have previously hosted Paul McCartney and Dave Grohl warm up gigs.

Last week, people were spotted queueing outside the venue in Frome - that's despite bosses at the venue confirming to fans that they wouldn't be holding any events related to the festival this year.

They do have a precedent with some of the world's biggest bands, though, as they've hosted the liked of Paul McCartney and Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters in the past.

On social media, bosses at the Cheese and Grain said: "Last week we were delighted to be able to welcome Coldplay to the Cheese and Grain.

"The band hired the venue to rehearse for their record breaking fifth time headlining Glastonbury Festival.

"It was an honour to host them and, as a not-for-profit social enterprise, brought in valuable funds to help us continue to serve this wonderful town."
