Residents in North Somerset are worried a spate of bizarre incidents where they are terrorised by a man dressed in a full body latex suit and mask, are restarting.

Back in 2018 and 2019 more than a dozen incidents were reported in the Claverham area, in which a man dressed from head to toe in latex approached people late at night making strange noises and gestures.

Avon and Somerset Police arrested two people, but neither were charged with any crime and the incidents seemed to stop, until now.

Last weekend (June 26), another incident was reported to officers in which a man dressed in full latex approached a woman just after 1am on Yatton High Street.

The man has been described as more than six feet tall and slim, with the woman saying what happened caused her alarm and distress.

We have contacted the police for a comment.

"Officers carried out a search of the area but found no trace of the man," a spokesperson told us.

"Neighbourhood officers are following up on the incident and carrying out extra patrols."

As a hunt for the man begins once again, officers say they are "keeping an open mind" as to whether all the now 15 incidents reported over the last four years, are linked.

Anyone who has any information about what is happening or who is behind it, is asked to call the police on 101.
