Fiesta organisers announce special balloon as a 'TANK' you to Bristol
The balloon is more than 20 years old - and has been announced as a special edition for next month's fiesta
It's official - Thomas the Tank Engine is coming to Bristol!
The announcement has been made for the city's International Balloon Fiesta, which takes place in just under a months' time.
Organisers of the Balloon Fiesta are giving the city a big 'TANK' you to the city, through the announcement of the very first balloon to be confirmed for the 2023 edition.
In a Tweet yesterday, they've revealed Thomas the Tank Engine's heading to the annual 4-day event, as part of this year's Bristol Balloon Collectors collection.
According to the Bristol Balloon Collectors, The Thomas the Tank Engine balloon - otherwise known as G-BXND - was built here in the city by Cameron Balloons back in 1998.
In a Tweet, they said: "We’re super excited to announce that our special shape Thomas the Tank Engine will be attending this years Bristol Balloon Fiesta!
"We can’t wait to showcase this amazing balloon built here in Bristol by Cameron balloons back in 1998 to everyone."
This year's event 'lifts off' on the 10th of August, and runs for four days.
