The teams' history

The two teams have got some history - and we only have to go back five years to the EFL Cup semi-final for their last big clash.

In the semi-finals, the first leg saw a 2-1 win for The Citizens at home, while it was the 3-2 loss for the Robins which sealed their fate in that competition.

Bristol in that season were just a step in the road for Manchester City's journey to the final in the 2018 EFL Cup, though, with the final seeing a 3-0 win for The Citizens who saw themselves clash against Arsenal.

The Robins have never yet won the FA Cup trophy, but won through to their only FA Cup final more than 100 years ago - in 1909.

They then reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup in the 1919-20 season.
