Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed a dog which killed a young woman in Bristol last week was an XL Bully.

It follows an autopsy of the banned animal, which was put down after it killed 19-year-old Morgan Dorsett at a flat on Cobhorn Drive in the Withywood area on Wednesday evening.

A man and a woman, both in their 20s, were arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in death and possession of a prohibited breed of dog.

They have since been released on bail.
