A Bristol musician is hosting a gig TONIGHT for an 8-year-old boy who suffers from Norrie disease.

Daz Sims hopes the event at the Miles Arms Pub in Avonmouth will help them hit their £22,000 target for Cameron.

The money will go towards buying him a therapy pool to ease his constant pain.

Cameron’s condition means he is deaf-blind, non-verbal and is now starting to lose his mobility.

Daz said: “The therapy pool will be used by Cameron for the rest of his life, and it means his mum can provide hydro-therapy in his home rather than having to travel somewhere else.”

Daz’s ‘Rock 4 Charity’ also looks set to hit £1 million raised for charity, individuals and good causes since first establishing in 2007.

He said: “It is quite emotional to get to that figure. Knowing we’ve helped different people’s lives to be changed in a good way and to make things easier for them.”

He is hoping that tonight’s gig will help him reach this target, in a monumental achievement for Daz and everyone involved.

Speaking about the event in Avonmouth, Daz said it will be ‘a night of music fun and laughter’.

Kick starting at 8.00pm tonight (Friday 17 December), there will be raffle prizes and auctions – including a big TV up for grabs.

The musician also paid tribute to everyone at the Miles Arms, saying: “The people at the pub are amazing and have helped a lot of our other causes.”

Summing up the night ahead, Daz said: “We’ll have good fun and hopefully reach both targets at the same time.”
