Man arrested after death of dog in Weston-super-Mare
Police are urging people not to post any potential footage online as they investigate
A man has been arrested as police investigate the death of a dog in Weston-super-Mare.
Officers were called to reports of a man attacking an animal in the Worle area just after 5:45pm on Saturday.
Just after 6pm, a man in his 50s was detained on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.
He has been bailed pending further enquiries, including a vet's examination of the dog's remains.
Avon & Somerset Police are also urging people not to post any potential footage online, saying that it risks compromising their ongoing investigation.
