A38 near Bristol Airport reopens after fatal three-car collision

The A38 has been fully reopened in both directions after one person died in a three-car collision this morning (April 18).
Emergency services were called to the scene soon after 7:30AM between the Airport Tavern and Dial Lane.
All three of the cars involved in the incident caught ablaze after the crash.
A second person was also injured in the collision, and their condition isn't thought to be life threatening - they were sent to hospital for further treatment.
In a statement this evening, Avon and Somerset Police said: "The A38 has now reopened following this morning's fatal collision in North Somerset.
"We will continue to provide support to the family of the deceased and our sympathies are with them at this time."
The incident led to part of the A38 being closed for much of the day
Emergency services were called to the scene on the A38 Bridgwater Road at Barrow Gurney around 7.35 am.
In a statement from Police, they say they responded to calls of a three car collision which caught fire.
The identity of the person who died has not yet been confirmed by Avon and Somerset Police.
Drivers were told to avoid the area, and diversions were put in place.
A statement from the Fire and Rescue service said: "We were called at 07:37am to reports of a road traffic collision on Bridgwater Road, Barrow Gurney.
"Crews from Bedminster and Temple are currently in attendance alongside police and ambulance colleagues."
