Young motorcyclist dies after crash near Bridport
Police say the rider, who was in his 20's, died in hospital on Thursday morning
A young motorcyclist who was involved in a crash near Bridport nearly two weeks ago has died.
Dorset Police received a report at 6.42pm on Saturday 5 October of a single vehicle collision involving a silver Yamaha motorcycle on the A35 west of Bridport near Eype.
Emergency services attended and the motorcyclist, a man aged in his 20s from Chard in Somerset, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries. Very sadly, he died in hospital on Thursday morning.
His family has been informed and is being supported by specially-trained officers.
Sergeant Mike Burt, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family of the young man who sadly died following this collision.
“We owe it to them to carry out a detailed investigation to establish the full circumstances of the incident and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to please make contact with us.”
