Woman targeted by religious abuse on Bournemouth bus
Police are treating the incident as a hate crime
Police are looking for a man who reportedly shouted religious abuse at a woman on a bus in Bournemouth.
It happened as he and the victim, who's in her 20s, were travelling between St Peter's Road and the Castlepoint shopping centre between 10.30 and 11.30am on Monday (13th May).
They were on the top deck of the M1 Morebus service.
Police are looking to trace a man described as:
- Aged in his 50s
- Slim build
- Short, stubbly beard
- Scruffy, long hair
- Wearing a light coloured jacket
PC John Barron, of Bournemouth police, said:
“We take reports of hate crime seriously and will do all we can to support victims and identify potential offenders.
“We are following all available lines of enquiry into this incident, which occurred on a busy Monday morning when there were lots of fellow commuters present on the bus.
“I would ask anyone who witnessed this incident occur, or has information about who was responsible, to please come forward.”
