Poole's Lighthouse theatre is looking for local budding actors and dancers to be part of this year's pantomime.

They're holding open auditions for people to join the ensemble cast of Sleeping Beauty at Christmas time.

Head of Programming Tim Colegate said:

“We are looking for hard working, dedicated young dancers, who are also keen on acting and singing, to join the ensemble in our magical family pantomime, Sleeping Beauty."

The production's being created by the same team who put together the Aladdin, Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast pantos in recent years.

It's been written and directed by CBeebies star Chris Jarvis, with production design is by James Smith, choreography by Daniel Donaldson Todd and musical direction by Adam Tuffrey.

How to get involved

For a rare chance to be a part of the Poole pantomime, you must be:

  • Over the age of 16 (and have completed GCSEs) by 28th November 2024.
  • Be available to start rehearsals on Thursday 28th November 2024, and be available for the full schedule of performances from Thursday 12th December 2024 – Sunday 5th January 2025 inclusive (one day off in every six)
  • Be able to commit to the entirety of the rehearsal and performance periods as we are unable to offer any additional time off during the engagement
  • Have strong dance technique (Classical Ballet and Jazz recommended)

Auditions will be held at Lighthouse on Wednesday 5th June from 7.00pm, performing a routine to be set on the day.

You can email casting@lighthousepoole.co.uk to register an interest, with your name, contact details, previous dance training and a headshot, before 5.00pm on Monday 3rd June.
