Railway crossing snapped off in Dorset dangerous driving incident
Police are investigating after an HGV crashed at Moreton
The barrier for a railway crossing in West Dorset has been snapped off after being struck by an HGV.
Police are treating what happened on Moreton Road at around 11.20am on Wednesday (14th August) as criminal damage.
The vehicle also didn't stop at the scene of the crash.
PC Kier Dagnall, of the Roads Policing Team, said:
“This incident caused the barrier to snap off, meaning the road was closed for a number of hours and trains were impacted.
“I am appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area and saw what happened or has relevant dashcam footage to please get in touch.
“I would also like to speak to the driver of the lorry so I can take their account of what happened.”
