Number plates targeted in criminal damage spree in Wareham

Around 25 vehicles have had their number plates removed or damaged in a criminal damage incident in Wareham.

They were all parked in Sandford Road, Drax Avenue, Northport Drive and Admirals Way and were targeted between 12.15 and 1.30am yesterday (Tuesday 15th October).

Dorset Police is now investigating and wants to hear from witnesses or any further victims.

The suspects involved are described as two young males, aged in their late teens.

One was wearing dark jeans and a black hooded jumper with colourful writing.

The other was wearing a light-coloured hooded jumper and blue jeans.

PC Kayleigh Barguss, of Dorset Police, said:

“We attended and carried out searches of the area, but unfortunately the suspects were not located.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area during the relevant time period to please come forward.

“Also, if you own a ring doorbell or CCTV camera and live in the vicinity, please can you check your footage for anything that may assist my enquiries.

“I am keen to speak with anyone who had their vehicle damaged and has not already spoken to officers.

“We know the significant impact vehicle crime has on victims and local officers can be approached while on patrol with any information or concerns.”
