It's been confirmed there'll only be one park and ride in Bournemouth and Poole this summer.

Following a trial last year, the service between Poole Civic Centre and Sandbanks has been scrapped as not enough people used it.

A park and ride will still run in Bournemouth; between Kings Park and Boscombe Pier. Click here for more details.

In a statement, BCP Council said: "To actively try and reduce congestion on the main route to Sandbanks Beach last summer we trialled a park and ride service from Poole Civic Centre.

"The existing morebus route 60 bus was enhanced to a 15 minute frequency service during the six weeks of the school summer holidays.

"Whilst this resulted in an additional 1,630 journeys the increase was not large enough to justify running the 15 minute service again this summer.

"The Route 60 service continues to operate between Poole Bus Station to Sandbanks and runs every 30 minutes from 28 May.

"We’d encourage the public to use this service to get to and from the beach in a sustainable way.

"Another option is to utilise a Beryl Bikeshare bike or E-Scooter."
