A man's suffered a serious head injury following a road rage incident in Weymouth.

The victim, who's in his 60s, was driving a black Audi A3 on Chamberlaine Road in Wyke Regis at around 9.50pm on Saturday (17th August).

The car was forced to stop suddenly to avoid a collision with an e-scooter.

The victim's wife, who was a passenger in the car, wound down her window to challenge the male scooter rider over his manner of using it.

He became abusive, and the couple got out of their car.

The scooter punched the victim, causing him to fall and hit his head, sustaining an injury that needed hospital treatment.

The man involved, who left the scene afterwards, is described as:

  • Wearing sunglasses
  • Grey t-shirt
  • Grey shorts
  • White trainers
  • Backpack

Detective Sergeant Kate Rhodes, of Dorset County CID, said:

“This was a violent assault that left the victim with a serious head injury and we are carrying out detailed enquiries to identify the suspect involved in this incident.

“I would urge any witnesses, or anyone who has captured relevant dashcam or home CCTV footage, to please come forward.”
