Man suffers broken jaw in Bournemouth assault

The victim was in Halloween fancy dress at the time

Police in Bournemouth are investigating a serious assault, with left the victim with a broken jaw.

A man in his 20s was approached by another man outside Sound Circus on Holdenhurst Road at around 1.00am on Sunday 30th October.

The victim was wearing fancy dress and initially had his hat stolen.

He followed the offender to outside Asda in St Pauls Road to try and get the hat back, but was punched several times and knocked unconscious.

After visiting a dentist a few days later, the victim was told his jaw was broken and needed to have surgery.

A description of the offender has been released by Dorset Police - he's thought to be:

  • White
  • Aged between 18 and 20
  • Six feet tall
  • Brown hair
  • Wearing a grey Nike t-shirt
  • Possibly called Junior
  • With a woman at the time of the incident

PC Jade McAllister, of Bournemouth police, said:

“This incident has resulted in the victim sustaining nasty injuries.

“Following a review of CCTV, I know that there were a number of people in the area at the time who may have witnessed what happened and I would ask them to please come forward.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who may have information about the identity of the offender.”
