Garage near Dorchester targeted by cigarette thieves
Offenders left the scene at Frampton in a stolen car
A quantity of cigarettes has been stolen from a garage near Dorchester, with police now investigating.
The glass door of the Long Ash Service Station at Frampton was smashed at around 5.00am on Saturday (8th February) for thieves to get in.
Two men are believed to have enter the premises before leaving in a grey Volvo, which had been reported stolen from Crewkerne in Somerset.
There's now an appeal for witnesses to the incident, or who might have seen the vehicle, with the registration WD62 DNV.
A CCTV image has been released of one man officers are looking to identify.
PC Jade Owen, of Dorchester police, said:
“We are conducting enquiries into this burglary, and I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident to please contact us.
“I am also issuing a CCTV image of a man we would like to identify. I appreciate his face is covered but it may be someone could recognise him from his general build and clothing.
“Finally, I would ask anyone who comes across a vehicle matching the one described to please report it to police.”
