Dorset Tank Museum visitors write 300 Christmas cards for veterans
They'll be delivered by the Help for Heroes charity
A total of 300 Christmas cards have been written to veterans, from children visiting Dorset's Tank Museum.
A special collaboration between the Bovington attraction and the Help for Heroes charity means the festive messages will delivered to former service personnel.
All the cards were written over one weekend earlier this month (16th and 17th November), as part of the Tank Museum's 'A Dorset Christmas' event.
Children wrote in cards designed with an armoured vehicle, to be given out at a veterans coffee morning in December.
Events and Partnerships Manager at The Tank Museum, Tom Holmes said:
“As the regimental museum of the Royal Tank Regiment and the corps museum of the Royal Armoured Corps, it is important to us to help support veterans by working closely with other charities like Help for Heroes.
“This season can be a difficult time for many, so we wanted to ask families enjoying our Christmas event to take time to write a special message for a veteran. We are delighted to have collected so many cards and look forward to delivering them in December."
