DFDS fast ferry service to pause over the winter

A fast ferry service between Poole and Jersey will be temporarily paused this winter.
DFDS has confirmed that the Levante Jet - which normally operates the route - will cover the Jersey to St Malo service during this time instead.
Bosses have apologised for the inconvenience - but say the schedule's designed "meet demand for the routes while also delivering a dependable service".
A spokesperson from the firm told us: "The fast-ferry service between Poole and Jersey, operated by Levante Jet, will be temporarily paused during the winter, returning on 30 April 2026. During this period Levante Jet will cover the Jersey-St Malo service while Tarifa Jet, which operates the route, is in dry dock.
"While we understand that this decision will disappoint some of our customers and we are sorry for the inconvenience this will cause, the winter sailing schedule is designed to meet demand for the routes while also delivering a dependable service.
"The schedule offers 118 departures from Portsmouth to Jersey, with additional crossings on peak weekends, ensuring capacity for up to 77,000 passengers to travel between the UK and Jersey between November and March.
"This is well above the historical levels of demand during the winter months.
"We are focusing on delivering a long-term sustainable ferry service for Jersey and our plans include investing in future tonnage for the routes."
