West Dorset MP says he would not back Labour no-confidence vote

West Dorset's Chris Loder says he would not vote to oust the Prime Minister a second time if the motion was brought by the Labour Party.
Boris Johnson officially resigned from his post on Thursday but will remain in his post until a new leader is found for the country.
It's thought the Leader of the Opposition could bring a vote of no confidence in the government itself. Sir Keir Starmer has threatened to do so if the Conservative Party fail to eject Johnson quickly enough.
MP Chris Loder voted against the Prime Minister in June, but says he couldn't vote in favour of a Labour motion.
He told Greatest Hits Radio:
"There are two things the Labour Party could do. They could bring forward a motion that would in effect confidence in Boris Johnson himself. That confidence motion isn't worth the paper it's written on and I'd probably abstain from it.
"If they were to bring forward a no confidence motion in Her Majesty's Government, I can tell you now categorically there is no way am I going to be voting in support of a Labour motion to bring down a Conservative government."
But Mr Loder added that he believes the Prime Minister needs to go sooner rather than later.
"My preference would be that he goes and that the Deputy Prime Minister covers him for the next few months. But the most important thing is the stability of the country especially when we're dealing with things in Ukraine and other really pressing difficult matters.
"So that's the number one priority, despite my preference. Now there is a new cabinet in place that I think is a far more diverse cabinet than what we saw previously, and of course a number of ministerial appointments have been made to make sure that government can function and continue to do it's work."
