Bridport man charged over fatal crash on New Year's Day

An 18-year-old man from Cornwall died after the three car crash near Kingston Russell

A man is due to appear in court in connection with a fatal crash in West Dorset.

At 1.34pm on New Years Day Dorset Police received a report of a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the A35 near Kingston Russell. The vehicles involved were a silver Kia Sorento, a black Toyota Aygo and a black BMW.

A passenger of the Toyota – an 18-year-old man from Cornwall – was very sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Three further people were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not life-threatening.

A 22-year-old Joshua Jack Craven from Bridport has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by driving without due care and attention while over the specified limit for a controlled drug.

He's due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, November 13.
