Bournemouth Airport ranks third in worst flight delay times

Bournemouth Airport has been revealed as having the third-worst flight punctuality in the UK for 2025, with an average delay of 17 minutes and 18 seconds per departing flight.

This ranking places Bournemouth Airport among the most delayed in the country, according to data released today.

Topping the list is Manchester Airport with an average delay of 19 minutes and 30 seconds, closely followed by Birmingham Airport at 18 minutes and 42 seconds.

Delayed departures data across UK airports

The analysis covered 23 UK airports, measuring average delay times for departing flights throughout 2025.

Southampton Airport ranks fourth with 16 minutes and 36 seconds, while Gatwick Airport showed an average delay of 16 minutes and 24 seconds.

At the other end of the spectrum, Liverpool John Lennon Airport reported the shortest average delay, at just nine minutes and 24 seconds.

The report sheds light on the punctuality challenges faced by airports across the UK, impacting both travellers and airport operations.

Manchester Airport's prolonged delay period highlights concerns that may require newly implemented strategies for improving departure times.
