Book exchange site set up in Weymouth
A 'phonebox' full of reading material's been created on St Thomas Street
A former phonebox in Weymouth town centre has been transformed into a mini library.
A new book exchange project has been set up on St Thomas Street, for people to start using.
The town's Youth Council came up with the idea - with classics like Jane Austen’s Emma to Roald Dahl’s Matilda, fictional novels and Horrible Histories titles to choose from.
Anyone can pick up a book from there for free, with donations welcomed for the next users to sample too.
Members of the Weymouth Youth Council said:
“We are pleased the book exchange is up and running and just as schools have broken up. the idea is to take a book and leave a book in exchange, but don’t worry if you don’t have a book to leave you can still take one to read!”
