Young voices shape plans for new Birmingham Monopoly board
Ozzy the Bull, Chinatown and major city landmarks among suggestions
Our reporter has been out across Birmingham asking people what they would like to see on the city’s brand-new Monopoly board.
From iconic landmarks to favourite food spots, the suggestions reflect a modern and diverse city.
What people want to see
Among the most popular calls was Ozzy the Bull, the mechanical bull from the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony that has since become a symbol of the city.
Others suggested major transport hubs such as Birmingham New Street Station, while younger voices highlighted well-known food chains and retail favourites.
Chinatown and its independent Chinese bakeries were also mentioned, with some saying the board should reflect Birmingham’s cultural diversity.
A new edition for a new generation
The new MONOPOLY: Birmingham Edition is being produced by Winning Moves UK under licence from Hasbro. It replaces the previous Birmingham version released in 1999.
Organisers say the updated board will include modern landmarks such as Centenary Square and the Library of Birmingham, as well as tributes to Ozzy Osbourne. Two Birmingham charities will also feature on Community Chest squares.
Residents can submit suggestions until 4 March 2026, with the game expected to go on sale in time for Christmas.
