West Midlands clubs "crying out" for football pitches
GMB union says hundreds of pitches have been lost across the country
Where will the next Jude Bellingham or Jack Grealish come from? That's the question being asked by GMB Union, who have said hundreds of football pitches have been lost since 2010.
The union says 926 pitches have gone during that period, creating fears around how the next generation of footballers will get into the sport.
Joe Robinson from Birmingham County FA said: "We work closely with local authorities - it doesn't come as a shock that there's a significant number of grass pitches that have been lost over the last few years.
"We look at the supply and demand and the future need for grass pitches and it's quite clear there's clubs out there that are just crying out for more land and more opportunities to play, and we're doing our very best to identify where these might be."
Birmingham County FA works with the Football Foundation, using grants to fund grass pitches to get more investment into areas that need better pitch maintenance so those pitches are kept.
Joe Robinson said: "We're looking to get as much funding as we possibly can into grass roots pitches - this will lead to being able to host more games, mean fewer cancellations and help to address that pitch shortfall."
