His school said he "brought light and character" to the community
Tributes are being paid to a 16-year-old who's body was found in a lake at Sutton Park.
Daniel Drewitt was reported missing yesterday evening (10th July), his body was then found in Powell's Pool later that night.
Police say they are supporting Daniel's family at this time. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
The staff from Colmers School & Sixth Form College, where Daniel attended, paid tribute to the 16-year-old, saying: "We are all deeply shocked and saddened by the loss of Daniel Drewitt, a Year 11 student at Colmers School, who tragically died yesterday evening.
"Daniel was a young man who brought light and character to our entire school community; he was confident, full of life, a talented sportsman, and so deeply loved by staff and fellow pupils alike. His warm presence and positive spirit will be sorely missed.
"We are doing all we can to support our school community during this incredibly difficult time. Our pastoral team, school counsellors, and senior staff are working together to provide dedicated spaces and support for both students and staff. This includes opportunities for quiet reflection, one-to-one conversations, and access to emotional and wellbeing support throughout the days and weeks ahead.
"We know how deeply this loss will be felt by many, and we are committed to ensuring no member of our school community feels alone in their grief.
"Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Daniel’s family. We ask urgent respect for their privacy at this profoundly difficult time."
