West Midlands Police have charged a teenager over a fatal stabbing of another teenager in Solihull.

The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with the murder of a 17-year-old boy in Marston Green on Tuesday (29 Oct).

The teenager has also been charged with possession of a knife.

He is due to appear before magistrates in Birmingham on Monday (4 November).

Detective Inspector Michelle Cordell from the force’s Homicide Team, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and loved ones of the 17-year-old boy who died on Tuesday. We are working around the clock to establish what happened and why.

“This is a significant development in our investigation and I want to thank those that have already come forward. I’m still appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch.”

An increased police presence remains around Marston Green this weekend, which police say is to offer reassurance to the local community.

Officers are continuing their investigation and are urging anyone with information to contact them via Live Chat on their website, or call 101, quoting log 4239 of 29/10/24.
