St. Patricks Day Parade returns to Birmingham
The parade will be on through the city centre, for the first time in four years.
Birmingham's St. Patrick Day parade is making a return to the city today, for the first time in five years.
It will also celebrate it's 50th anniversary in the city.
The parade had been paused since the Covid-19 pandemic and roadworks in Digbeth.
The event first started in 1952, and seen up to 80,000 people in the past attend to watch and be involved.
Hundreds are expected to gather to watch Irish dancing, sports and activities.
There will also be a tribute to The Pogues singer, Shane McGowan, who passed away last year.
Rory Murray is from the festival committee, he said: "Everyone is welcome, every generation.
"There's music, food and a welcoming atmosphere for anyone to join.
"We will be celebrating so many aspects of Irish culture."
The parade starts at midday.
