£20,000 reward offered after man found stabbed to death in his Birmingham bedroom
They're appealing for any information about his murder.
Crimestoppers is offering up to £20,000 for vital information given to the charity anonymously about those responsible for the murder of Kevin Lomas, found stabbed in his bedroom over three years ago in Birmingham.
Kevin, who was 56 years old, was found dead in the multiple-occupancy property where he lived on Stratford Road, Hall Green on Friday 2 April 2021. He had been killed by a stab wound.
Two people were arrested in connection with Kevin’s murder and have been released on bail.
The reward is available for three months and is due to expire on 29 July 2024.
CCTV footage of Kevin’s last movements has been issued by the police which was captured days before he was found dead.
Alan Edwards, West Midlands Regional Manager at the charity Crimestoppers, said: “We are offering this reward as we hope it will encourage someone with key information to come forward to share what they know.
“Kevin is described by his family as ‘someone who would give you a helping hand’ if it was needed. Our charity would like to help Kevin’s heartbroken family see justice.
“If you prefer not to speak directly to the authorities, you can stay completely anonymous.
“Crimestoppers has been taking crime information since we began over 35 years ago. Every day over 2,000 people contact us online and over the phone. The information we receive makes a huge difference in keeping communities safe. Together, we can get justice for Kevin and potentially stop somebody else from coming to harm.”
The family of Kevin recently spoke of their loss: “Considering you were quite shy when you were young, you embodied everything in life that was bright.
“If anyone felt low, Kevin would lift you. If you needed help Kev would give you a helping hand.
"He just wanted everyone to be happy and enjoy life as he wanted to do so himself. Tragically this was taken from him. Our poor brother.”
