Police officer injured in 999 response crash in Yardley

A police officer has been taken to hospital after being involved in a collision while responding to an emergency in Yardley.
West Midlands Police say the police van was on blue lights when it was struck on Coventry Road yesterday afternoon.
The officer's injuries aren't thought to be life threatening.
In a statement issued late on Friday, West Midlands Police, said: "We’re investigating after a vehicle collided with a police van shortly before 2.50pm today (Fri) on the Coventry Road, at its junction with Forest Road, Yardley.
"Our van was on blue lights responding to an incident when it was struck. The vehicle stopped at the scene.
"An officer was taken to hospital with injuries which are classed as non-life threatening. No-one else was injured.
