Woman dies following fatal collision near Stourbridge as investigation launched
The woman in her 70s suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car
A woman has died after being involved in a fatal collision in the Stourbridge area of the Black Country.
Officers from West Midlands Police were alerted to an incident taking place on Hagley Road in Oldswinford near Stourbridge at around 4pm last Thursday (April 17th).
When officers responded to the scene, they found that a woman in her 70s had been struck by a red Vauxhall Corsa.
The driver of the car remained at the scene and is continuing to help officers with their investigations.
The victim was taken to hospital in the wake of the collision shortly after the incident took place, but has since passed away.
West Midlands Police offered their thoughts to the woman's family and said they were being supported by specialist officers.
Officers have since launched an investigation and urged anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the crash to come forward with any information they may have.
