Man jailed for summer disorder in Birmingham
Muhammed Ali has been jailed for two years and six months.
A man who was involved in the summer disorder in the West Midlands has been jailed.
Muhammed Ali has been jailed for violent disorder in Bordesley Green, Birmingham, in August last year.
Ali, 20, was involved in disorder which saw a Skoda vehicle smashed on August 5.
Following the disorder, police issued an appeal to identify Ali across their website and social media. As a result of the appeals, Ali was arrested.
The 20-year-old from Yardley Green Road has been jailed for two years and six months.
Chief Superintendent Richard North, from Birmingham Police, said: "This sentence shows that we do not tolerate violence in our towns and cities.
"We would like to thank members of the public for sharing our appeal which was crucial to identify the offender."
