A football thug is facing jail after kicking a boy in the face while on the floor during disorder in Solihull town centre.

Camron Brockman left the 16-year-old with nasty facial injuries after striking him to the head while stricken on the ground.

It happened by the junction of High Street and New Road prior to an FA Cup match between Solihull Moors and Maidstone on 2 November last year.

After the attack, Brockman went to the game and then returned to his home in Kent.

We issued a witness appeal following the disorder and information we received helped us to identify Brockman as the prime suspect.

The 20-year-old was charged with wounding and pleaded guilty at court last Thursday (10 July). He was already subject of a football banning order imposed back in November 2024 and had breached this by attending the Solihull Moors fixture.

He was remanded into custody ahead of sentencing at Birmingham Crown Court on 7 August.

PC Stuart Ward, from WMP football unit, said: "Brockman kicked the boy so hard he sustained really nasty facial injuries.

“He had come to Solihull to watch the game, knowing full well he was banned from doing so.

“He effectively volleyed the teenager in the face and thanks to information from the public, following our public appeal, we were able to identify him as being responsible for the attack.

“Football has no place for any form of violence and West Midlands Police will actively pursue those responsible. Brockman has already been warned at court he now faces a prison term for his appalling actions.”
