A man has been jailed for 10 years after shots were fired in Perry Barr.

Tyrese Mignott of Foden Road in Birmingham was identified as the shooter thanks to CCTV.

The footage showed the 24-year-old having a verbal altercation with a man before firing a round of ammunition, narrowly missing a victim.

The incident happened on Saturday 11 May 2024 at around 4pm when shots were fired at an address on Glendower Road.

A warrant found bullet casings and ball bearings believed to be linked to the shooting at Mignott's address.

He was found guilty of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life after a trial earlier this month.

Mignott admitted to possession of a firearm and ammunition and possession of class A and class B drugs at an earlier hearing.

Detective Constable Reece Markham from our Major Crime Unit said: “Tyrese Mignott purposely went to the property to cause harm and it’s a miracle no one was seriously injured.

“Mignott will be behind bars for many years thanks to the good work of officers who spent countless hours reviewing CCTV footage and carrying out other enquiries.

“We have taken another dangerous individual off our streets as we continue to identify criminals involved in serious and organised crime.”
