A gunman has been jailed after a shooting on Chudleigh Road in Erdington, Birmingham.

The incident happened last year on July 25th at around 6.30pm. A gun was fired at a group of people, but no one was hit.

Police say they still do not know the motive of the shooting.

CCTV revealed 21-year-old Desie Dalton-Byrne fired the gun and then fled the scene.

He was arrested 2 months later.

Dalton-Bynre of Chudleigh Road, Erdington pleaded guilty to to possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, possession of a firearm, and possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate.

Detective Inspector Matt Marston, from West Midland Police's Major Crime Unit, said: "Firearms and drugs play a significant role in criminality on our streets. It persistently erodes communities, ruining lives and blighting communities.

"As a result of this discovery, we’ve taken a deadly weapon off the streets, and an individual with direct access to it is behind bars.

“We hope this sentence will offer a deterrent to other criminals who act in this way," they said.
