Crews tackle takeaway blaze in Birmingham city centre
It started on Broad Street on Tuesday night.
Fire crews have been tackling a blaze above a takeaway in Birmingham city centre.
Around 40 firefighters were sent to Broad Street after flames and smoke were reported at the Pit Stop fast food outlet at around 6pm on Tuesday night.
Eight fire crews were involved at the height of the fire, using hose reel water jets to tackle the flames.
West Midlands Fire Service said there were no reported injuries.
In a message on X on Tuesday evening, it said: " We currently have crews from Ladywood, Highgate, Ladywood, Bournbrook, Aston and Handsworth at a fire on Broad Street, City Centre, Birmingham.
"Please avoid the area until further notice to allow our crews to deal with the incident."
