Boy, 14, accused of murdering Leo Ross, 12, in Birmingham back in court today
Leo Ross, 12, was stabbed in Hall Green last week.
A 14-year-old boy - who can't be named for legal reasons - is back in court today accused of murdering 12-year-old Leo Ross in Hall Green, Birmingham.
Leo was stabbed near Scribers Lane as he walked home from school last Tuesday (21 Jan). He was taken to hospital but died that evening.
In a statement, his family said: "We want everyone to know what an amazing, kind, loving boy Leo was.
"Not only has Leo's life been taken, all of our lives have as well. Leo will be truly missed by all of us. He was loved so much by everyone."
His school, Christ Church, Church of England Secondary Academy in Yardley Wood, issued a statement to say the boy charged was not a pupil at the school.
The defendant appeared before magistrates yesterday and is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court today.
He is also accused of six separate counts of assault dating back to October, two of which included police officers.
These include:
- assaulting a woman on 22 October
- assaulting two police officers on 26 November
- seriously assaulting a woman on 19 January
- seriously assaulting a woman on 20 January
- assaulting a woman on 21 January
