Birmingham Pride is back for it's first full day - and it's expected to be bigger than ever!

The weekend long event kicks off in Centenary Square with parade through the city centre to Gay Village.

Then people are locked in for a night of entertainment at Smithfield with live performances from the likes of Sophie Ellis Bextor, Loreen, Heather Small and many more.

The parade is expected to be bigger than last year's - with Pride Director, Laurence Barton adding that "it's the largest carnival parade ever, with 9,000 participants."

He added: "There's a main stage, which looks amazing! We have a dance arena, a cabaret marquee and the site looks really interesting this year."

It's not just all about the music, loads of bars and venues are also taking part in the celebrations.

SideWalk Bar is just one of many hosting events, Gustavo Zanovello works there and said: "I'm excited to do it again, last year was my first one and it was crazy and supper busy and I'm just excited to do it all again.

"I hope it's crazier and even bigger than last year, I'm really excited."

It all kicks off at midday.
