Birmingham City avoid Championship relegation after Huddersfield clash
They'll be facing Norwich in the final day of the play-offs
Birmingham City have temporarily avoided relegation from the Championship League and will continue to stay among the ranks.
Sitting at 22nd place in the league table ahead of the fixture, the Bluenoses were in danger of dropping down to League One after a string of poor results.
Going into their clash with Huddersfield, there had been questions on whether the club had done enough to keep their spot on the rankings, after two losses and one win in their last five matches.
Huddersfield sat one place below Birmingham City in the table, with both teams fighting to keep their place in the league when the game kicked off.
Both Huddersfield and Birmingham City managed to chip in goals over the course of the match, with Birmingham's own Koji Miyoshi managing to inch a goal with one minute to go of the first half.
However, Huddersfield - keen to prove they still had power in their team, fought back in the second half, with an early goal to equalise thanks to Rhys Healey.
With an uneventful second half playing out, both teams finished 1-1. It was later decided that the points would be shared equally among both sides.
As a result, Huddersfield has been confirmed to be relegated down to League One, whereas the Bluenoses' fate was less certain.
Birmingham City's place now depends on other games going their way in order to clinch their spot in the Championship once again.
This means that Birmingham will continue to be in the Championship until the final day, with a match against Norwich deciding whether the team will get to stay in the league.
