Aston Villa has apologised to fans after it made the decision to increase the cost of disabled parking on matchday.

During last season, those who were willing to pay for disabled parking at the stadium would have to pay £190 per match.

However, going into the 2024/25 season, it was confirmed that the cost would have risen to a total of £380, double the initial price.

The decision to hike the price sparked outrage from fans and disability campaigners, who said that fans with disabilities were being priced out of the games.

In a statement released on their website, Aston Villa said they had made a mistake in introducing the new tariff.

"Aston Villa can confirm that disabled supporters who have booked matchday parking at Villa Park for the 2024/25 season will be charged last season’s parking rates," the club said.

"Those supporters will be contacted directly by the club's ticket office via telephone prior to the next match at Villa Park against Everton and for those who were overcharged for parking for the Arsenal match, the club will issue reimbursements.

"The club wishes to apologise to those affected."

It comes following a new wave of ticket prices that were given to fans ahead of the new season, seeing a significant increase in the cost for a ticket.

On Wednesday (September 4th), it was announced that adult tickets for the club's four home matches at the Champions League would cost £85, £94 and £97 respectively.

Those who are season-ticket holders will be able to get discounted rates for £70, £79 and £82.
