Arrest after assault reported in Birmingham

A man has been arrested, after an assault in Northfield, Birmingham.

Police were called to reports of disorder in Groveley Lane at around 3.30pm yesterday (Thursday 17th October), involving two men.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault.

A second man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where officers say he remains in a stable condition.

A police statement adds: "We understand the concern this incident may raise in the community, and as a result, a police presence will remain in the area to ease any concerns."
