The man who gave Birmingham 'The Bull' has died

Laurence Broderick created the iconic piece of public art in 2003

Sculptor Laurence Broderick was 88 year old when he passed away on the 18th April 2024.

His best known work is 'The Bull', a public sculpture erected in 2003 at the Bull Ring shopping centre in Birmingham. The statue is about 4.5 meters long, about 220 cm high and weighs about 6.5 tons. It is one of the largest bronze animal sculptures in the country.
