A second man from Galashiels has pled guilty to his involvement in serious organised crime in the space of two weeks.

It follows an operation targeting the supply of illegal substances in the region, which last year saw Chris Ferguson, also from Galashiels, jailed for seven-and-a-half years.

In April 2024, the High Court in Glasgow heard Ferguson, aged 37, supplied a network of dealers in the Scottish Borders and Central Belt between January 2018 and April 2023.

A total of £385,000 worth of drugs linked to him were recovered in four raids on heroin dealers.

However, no drugs or cash were found at Ferguson's home when it was searched by police in April 2023.

At Selkirk Sheriff Court today (Monday), Brodie Anderson, who's 28, admitted agreeing with Ferguson, and others not known to the prosecutor, to do something that he knew or suspected, or ought to have known or suspected, would enable or further the commission of serious organised crime, in that he did agree with them to obtain, transfer and store quantities of money between various locations and to others.

He committed the offence at addresses in McQueen Gardens, Galashiels; Kirkintilloch in East Dunbartonshire; the M8 and elsewhere between March 20th and April 27th, 2021.

Sentence has been deferred for background reports until June 9th, and Anderson was released on bail meantime.

Last month, another man from Galashiels pled guilty to his involvement in serious organised crime after more than £10,000 in cash was found in his car in connection with the same case.

Jason Brown, who's 50, committed the offence at addresses in Coulter Avenue, Galashiels; Kirkintilloch; the A7 and elsewhere between March 15th, 2022 and June 2nd, 2022.

He is due to be sentenced at Selkirk Sheriff Court on May 26th.
