The search for the ultimate Greatest Hit of the 70s, 80s and 90s is over! You voted in your thousands and the winner has finally been revealed…

This year's chart saw a whopping 84 new entries, 205 songs climbing the chart (and 208 heading down), and three staying in exactly the same place.

In the year that we lost Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath were a new entry at no.182 with Paranoid and the Britpop resurgence following the huge Oasis concerts this summer saw Don’t Look Back In Anger climbing 410 positions, and Champagne Supernova climbing 114 positions.

The most popular artists to rack up new entries were David Bowie, Earth Wind & Fire, and U2, all gaining three more songs on this year's chart. Kate Bush is the highest placed female solo artist with Wuthering Heights at No.3 and Prince is the highest placed male solo artist with _When Doves Cr_y at No.4.

Bohemian Rhapsody: Still our Number One!

The Queen classic has been voted the greatest hit of the 70s, 80s and 90s by you for the seventh year in a row.

Queen’s Brian May thanked all those who voted and assured them that the band still don’t take the song’s success for granted, saying: ‘Thank you for voting Bohemian Rhapsody number one in your 500 top songs. It’s not the first time it’s happened, but we will never take this for granted, thank you. It’s great to be there in the centre of the pulse of music so thank you for tuning in and thank you for staying with us.’
